Whistler, a good investment

There are very few of us Whistlerites who do not believe that investing here is a wise decision. Of course it may sound as though we are somewhat bias in our belief, however it is founded on sound business principals as well as a decision to choose the lifestyle that Whistler has to offer.

The unsettling events that have occurred in various parts of the world have definitely had an affect on all resort areas no matter where they are located. These events have kept some of our usual guests from visiting us over the past couple of years but we are definitely beginning to see our visitor numbers increasing once again and we are confident that they will be back to normal in the near future. All of the economic indicators are pointing to towards increasingly better visitor numbers for Whistler and with the 2010 Winter Olympics on the horizon we are anticipating steady growth in our sales figures far beyond the Olympics.

Even with the disastrous events of 9-11 and everything that has happened in the aftermath, our historical real estate sales data shows that over the last five years the average condominium in Whistler has still appreciated 70.5% while the average Chalet has experienced a 54.26% increase in capital appreciation. Whistler continues to be ranked as the #1 ski resort in North America by major magazines such as Sports Illustrated for Women and Ski and Transworld Snowboard Magazines. Golf Digest has also names Whistler as being in the Top 20 Golf Destination Resorts in the World.

The real estate market in Whistler, like everywhere else is influenced heavily by supply and demand. With "build out" looming around the corner Whistlers' inventory levels are traditionally lower than normal when matched to the high demand from investors around the globe. Many people view Whistler as being a safe haven and after reviewing their priorities in life many are beginning to take the time to enjoy their home away from home right here in Whistler. Whistler and all that it has to offer in both winter and summer is the perfect get-away for many families and I believe that it will continue to be a good choice for many years to come.
