Whistler's Summer Calendar of Events
June 17, 2005
Loonie Races
Thursday evenings from May through September the Whistler Off Road cycling Association hosts informal mountain bike races. Race entry is two Loonies ($2) plus a one-time membership fee. Check with local bike shops or the WORCA Web site (www.worca.com) for location of each week’s race.
Farmers Market
Sundays, from June 19 through Oct. 9, farmers from the region bring fresh produce and fruit to the market in the Upper Village. Locally produced crafts, preserves and baking are also for sale from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Street Entertainment
From July 1 to Sept. 5 Whistler Village is animated by professional jugglers, comedians, magicians, musicians and mountain bike stunt riders.
MAY
May 21 Whistler Mountain Bike Park opens

May 29 Valley Trail Run
On the trails around Lost lake and Whistler Golf Course, this annual event has 5 K and 10 K categories.
JUNE
June 4 Peter Pan by Dufflebag Theatre
The “nearly world-famous” Dufflebag Theatre is widely acclaimed for their improvisational skills, and for recruiting audience members. Each show is daring and different but always hilarious. At MY Millennium Place at 7 p.m.
June 5 Last day of winter operations for Whistler Mountain.
June 11 Blackcomb opens for glacier skiing/snowboarding.
June 19 First Farmers Market
June 25 Whistler Mountain opens for hiking/sightseeing
June 26 Comfortably Numb trail run
A 25 K trail run through moss-covered forest. Lots of elevation gain in the first half, and tricky descents towards the finish. Part of the Sea to Sky Trail Running Series.
JULY
July 1 Canada Day
Celebrate the nation’s birthday with the annual parade through the village and a piece of birthday cake.
July 4-5 Telus Skins Game
The Telus Skins Game returns to Nicklaus North Golf Course with Vijay Singh, Jon Daly and two more of the world’s best golfers playing for cash in a winner-take-all format.
July 8-10 Whistler Arts and Music Festival
Back for its second year, the festival features street entertainers, nightly shows, art walks, an outdoor film series and possibly a big outdoor concert. It kicks off with Artrageous on July 8 and includes the Whistler Children’s Art Festival — the oldest annual festival in Whistler — July 9-10 at Creekside.
July 9-10 Sea to Sky Trail Ride
British Columbia’s premier off-road trial ride is a two-day affair, from D’arcy to Whistler on day one and from Whistler to Squamish on day two. The ride is limited to 250 participants. Register at www.great-explorations.com
July 30-31 Canadian National BBQ Championships
Some of the most passionate barbecuers in the world will haul their barbecues, kitchens and secret ingredients to Dusty’s for another weekend of smoke, sauce and slow cookin’.

A celebration of mountain biking. All kinds of competitions, demonstrations, expos and some of the best riding in the world.

Sept. 3-4 24 Hours of Adrenaline
24 continuous hours of mountain biking, either solo or as a relay teamm.
Sept. 24-25 Harvest Huckfest
Featuring the Max Enduror and the Boneyard Bike Jam.
NOVEMBER
Nov. 9-13 Cornucopia
A mouth-watering collection of wines, gourmet foods, seminars, winemaker dinners, late night parties and more.
