Whistler Blackcomb Claims Top Ski Resort Crown Again

Whistler, B.C. - The view is still good from the top. For the 12th year in succession, readers of SKIING magazine have voted Whistler Blackcomb as the number-one ski resort in North America.

“We survey our readers annually and ask them what they think is the best resort. But this year we tweaked the question. We asked readers where they would go if money were no object. Essentially, where they want to ski most,” said Jake Bogoch, editor of SKIING Magazine in a media release.

“The answer was Whistler Blackcomb. On a personal level, I get it. I’ve skied at Whistler for the past seven winters and can’t seem to stay away.”

This accolade comes towards the end of a demanding year for the resort. Aside from all the work gearing up for the 2010 Winter Olympics, the new Peak 2 Peak Gondola is scheduled to open in December.
